NewCom is currently facilitating transport services for four video companies, with plans to expand its video services division exponentially in 2010. Along with being a critical video node for the East Coast with direct links to Washington, New York and LA, NewCom has access to 30 antennas and several satellites - ensuring the fast, direct transport that video companies need. NewCom also has fiber connectivity to the NAP of Americas, enabling video companies to tap into the fast growing Latin American and European markets.

But along the way, NewCom also discovered new "green-friendly" product offerings, such as VideoMeetings, a state-of-the-art videoconferencing and collaboration tool that cuts travel costs and enhances global business capabilities for companies worldwide.

On March 15, NewCom's Jaime Munera will share his company's "Going Green" success story at the World Teleport Association's 2010 Member Forum in Maryland. To provide much needed water and other assistance to survivors of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, NewCom joined several Miami-area businesses to sponsor a benefit concert featuring performances by prominent Haitian artists.

An estimated 13,000 people packed Oak Grove Park in Miami on January 23 for The H₂O for Haiti Benefit Concert, which was broadcast live on area TV and radio stations. The benefit was a huge success, resulting in contributions of more than 88,500 bottles of water, fourteen containers of clothing and a crate loaded with food items. In addition, the benefit raised nearly $100,000 in monetary donations - including $90,000 from event sponsors - which was used to purchase drinking water bound for Haiti.
